My lawns are all different sizes. How do I use this?
Put in your average minutes per lawn so your costs get split right. Then use the price list, or type any lawn's minutes into "Price a lawn."
I quote by acre, not by minutes. Can I use that?
Yes. Open "Edit sizes" and rename each row, like "1/4 acre." Set the minutes to how long that size takes you with your mower. The price list updates.
How do I turn this into a monthly price?
Put in the weeks you mow each year. The price list then shows a monthly price for weekly service: a year of cuts split into 12 equal payments. That way a month with five mowing days costs your customer the same as a month with four.
Why does office work change my price?
Scheduling, invoicing, estimates and texting customers are work too, but nobody pays you for those hours directly. The calculator spreads them across your lawns so your price pays for them. Spend fewer hours in the office and the same hourly needs a lower price, or the price you charge now pays you more.
Is the hourly before or after taxes?
Before. Self-employment tax and income tax come out of what you make, so set your hourly high enough to cover them. Your accountant can tell you how much to set aside.
I have a truck payment and insurance. Where do those go?
Open "Add more costs" and put them in "Bills per month," along with the weeks you mow each year. Those bills are due all year, so the weeks you mow have to cover them.
I have two helpers. What do I put for crew pay?
Add their hourly pay together. Two helpers at $16 an hour is $32.
Is what I type saved anywhere?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
